Stan Grierson
Stan Grierson passed away in December 2016. He became a director when ShareSoc was founded and subsequently served as Chairman of the board, representing the Society in European bodies and working extensively to help private shareholders.
Stan had a varied career. He began as a Royal Air Force officer flying V-bombers, went on to work in IT marketing, and later founded his own successful catering wholesale company. He was an active private investor in the stock market for many years.
He is remembered for his calm authority and good judgement, and the annual Stan Grierson Award was established in his honour to recognise outstanding voluntary service to ShareSoc.
