Brand palette

Each brand colour generates five tokens: tile, tinted surface, dark-mode accent, light-mode accent, and rule. The tinted surface adapts per mode — warm darks in dark mode, pale tints in light mode.

▲ Sky tile uses dark text (#1A1A1A). White on light blue gives insufficient contrast. This is the only exception in the system — consistent with how pale colours work across all design conventions. ◑ = dark mode accent. ○ = light mode accent.

Semantic states

State colours map directly to brand colours — errors use Orange, success uses Teal, warnings use Amber (semantic), info uses Navy. This makes semantic meaning reinforce service identity.

Error · Orange family
--error-text · --error-tint · --error-rule
Success · Teal family
--success-text · --success-tint · --success-rule
Warning · Amber family
--warning-text · --warning-tint · --warning-rule
Info · Navy family
--info-text · --info-tint · --info-rule

Palette expansion note: these semantic tokens are new additions not in the base brand palette. They share the same hex values as brand accents but are named for their functional role, not their service association — so a form error showing orange is a deliberate collision with the Investor Advocacy service identity, reinforcing brand recognition.

The AGM is a shareholder's most powerful moment

Companies that take the AGM seriously engage with individual investors honestly — with transparency, real answers, and respect for the room.

Mark Maydon
April 2025
7 min read

The moment a shareholder walks into an AGM, the company has an opportunity — to listen, to explain, and to demonstrate accountability. Too often that opportunity is squandered by rote presentations and carefully managed question sessions that avoid the real issues.

"Individual investors ask the questions that institutional shareholders are too polite — or too conflicted — to raise."

— Mark Maydon, Director · ShareSoc

What good AGM engagement looks like

Effective AGM engagement has three components: a genuine opportunity for shareholders to question the board, a clear explanation of strategy in plain language, and a forward-looking commitment that can be held to account at the next meeting. Companies that deliver all three build lasting retail shareholder loyalty.

This article reflects the views of ShareSoc and does not constitute financial advice. ShareSoc is a not-for-profit membership organisation.
